You're probably right Fred. The Horsetail plant is said to be a ‘living fossil’, belonging to a group of plants that predate dinosaurs. (Info from the Royal Horticultural Society).
I certainly wouldn't want them in my garden though as they are also supposed to be very invasive and almost impossible to get rid of.
Anyway, this is a lovely photo, with fantastic detail and a lush green colour palette.
