That is a great photo Fred. I believe this bus is a VDL Citea operated by ASEAG being their bus number 451. The advertising stands out well.
Your photo prompted me to have a look at the schedules and maps for bus service 44 and I have seen where it travels. I see the service is run by Arriva and ASAEG working together and most interesting to see that a local bus runs in two different countries.
I remember that in 1965 or 1966 I was very fortunate to go on a school holiday. We stayed in Brussels and one of the circular trips we had took us to Maastricht and Aachen. The teacher organised this so we could say we had visited two extra countries!
