Flower strips at the edge of fields – a feast for the eyes with potential for more

The strip of flowers in front of the cornfield is part of conventional farming practices. It provides food sources and habitats for pollinators and other wildlife, as well as support for pollination and biodiversity, thus fulfilling important ecological functions.

While flower strips are pleasing to the eye, they should be seen as part of a larger optimization potential. This includes expanding more sustainable crop rotations, remediating soil, and managing resources.

In short, flower strips enrich the landscape ecologically and aesthetically, and they indicate that real change requires more than symbolic solutions.

I am delighted by and grateful for the technical possibilities available today that allow us to capture and reproduce visual impressions individually.

Flower strips at the edge of fields should be essential everywhere. Unfortunately, farmers here are not interested in doing anything to promote biodiversity.

Just beautiful! I just don't get it why some farmers are so averse to this practice.

Some years ago I heard about "The Three Sisters" companion planting - squash, corn, beans. An old technique of Native American groups.... some planted sunflowers as the "fourth sister" ...
this cultivation is 5000+ years old.

Beautiful, painterly image.
