Grand Army Plaza looking towards W59th St and the statue of General William Tecumseh Sherman (Scan from June 1981)

The 1981 picture shows the statue of General William Tecumseh Sherman (1820–1891) on the northern side of Grand Army Plaza. This gave me some confusion as the present situation is on the southern side of the Plaza.
In 1990 a restoration of Plaza was completed including re-guilding of the statue. The Plaza was renewed again in 2013 including another re-guild.
Also in the 1981 picture the statue shows Nike with a broken frond which was replaced in the late 80s.
