Capilano Gorge Swinging Bridge
140 meters long and 70 meters above the stream below, the bridge was originally built in 1889 of hemp rope and cedar planks; replaced in 1903 with a wire cable bridge; completely rebuilt in 1956 ... below is the Capilano River, draining a lake of the same name, and emptying near the Lions Gate entrance to Vancouver Harbor.
