Showing just 3, out of the 22, locks in the immediate area around 'Turnerwood' on the Chesterfield canal - this section is often cited as the most beautiful stretch in the whole country featuring 20 locks in a one mile [1.6km.] stretch - built in the 1770s // At nearby 'Anston quarry' ,. stone was loaded into barges - made their way eventually to the 'River Thames' and used to build the Houses of Parliament,. London.
