A ''H.B.Monday' from Dj
Built around 1482 in highly fashionable and expensive red brick, 'Oxburgh Hall' was intended to reflect the newly acquired status of Sir Edmund Bedingfeld he was knighted and even hosted a visit from the king and queen.
Despite its fortified moated appearance, Oxburgh Estate was built as a family home and the Bedingfelds have lived here ever since, surviving Civil War, periods of near dereliction and, in the 20th century, the threat of demolition.
