An island built of rubble from around the world.

The massive and global export of slate from here,. 'Porthmadog' in Wales., meant that after unloading the ships - they needed to return to Port carrying ballast to aid stability,. which was then unloaded and resulted in this island being formed - rubble and stones from many parts of the world built ''Ballast island''.

I've stayed in Porthmadog twice on photo holidays and it's new to me too David............I've seen it but had no idea is was anything but a natural island. Fascinating stuff.

A beautifully composed and taken shot my friend, sharp and detailed throughout with lovely light and colours.

I hope you're having a good weekend.
