From then,. to now...[ world photography day ]

Seen on the horizon is the ruined thirteenth century 'Criccieth Castle' in Gwynedd, Wales. It is located on a rocky headland overlooking 'Tremadog Bay'. The castle was begun in the 1230s,.with a raw basic way of life which is impossible to imagine today,. as vehicles speed along packed with every electronic accessory and a digital technology which could never have even been dreamed of back then.

Love the atmospher in this image David. The castle shrouded in mist with the waves rolling into shore has a timeless appeal and contrasts nicely with the more modern foregound,
Well captured. Best wishes Carol

An excellent juxtaposition, David. It's something I hadn't really thought about before and will try and take note of in my own pictures. Great stuff. Have a good week.

Good to see you out there near Criccieth my friend. Yes times have changed a lot since the fourteenth century and not all for the better I think. Modern technology has a lot to answer for. Looks like you are having some dicey weather I hope things improve a bit.

A good choice for this WPD. Well done.

Keep well. Herb

A lovely image of a misty day and contrasting times, David. Yes, change keeps moving ever faster, just consider the new technology in the past 50 years. Very appropriate to WPD.

It seems you had similar weather to us yesterday David...........but the grey sky and the misty background adds a nice moody feel to the shot.

The castle looks magnificent perched up on the headland. Beautifully composed and taken sir!
