A 'Happy wall Wednesday' to all,.. from > Dj.

Opposite, the old country inn. ''The Three Merry Lads'' runs a lengthy wall,.during W.W.1, this formed the perimeter of a forces training camp and later a W.W.2. P.O.W camp holding around 11.000 prisoners // Remains of camp buildings can still be found,, It is said that a German P.O.W asked to be allowed a visit to the pub, together with a guard and if his request was granted,,he swore to make no attempt to get away,.but would continue to attempt escapes once returned to the camp.. but who knows, perhaps to provide a chuckle all P.O.W camps may run this same tale.

That's a big un David. A most interesting story here too. It would have been even nicer with three lads walking near the pub instead of a couple. Well done.

HWW, enjoy the day. Herb
