Cheedale...... and the 'River Wye'

Stepping stones through the 'River Wye'...is the only way to go.. at this point. 'Chee Dale'.. is a picturesque beauty spot in the Peak District, whose limestone crags are popular with climbers. There’s a former railway line criss crossing the valley along parts that’s now been converted into the 'Monsal Trail' - a popular pathway which includes passage through the old railway tunnels.. now surfaced and illuminated.

Excellent! ... and fond memories of climbing here!
I'm old enough to remember going on this railway (with my younger brother and sister and my gran) from Bakewell to Buxton and back by steam. Why we went I can't remember. Possibly shopping. I would have been no older than 6, I guess..
