Roter Panda

Der Kleine Panda (Ailurus fulgens) oder Rote Panda lebt im östlichen Himalaya und im Südwesten Chinas. Er ist ein geschickter Kletterer und ernährt sich hauptsächlich von Bambus. Er ist etwa 120 cm lang und 4 bis 6 kg schwer. Mit dem Großen Panda ist die Art nicht näher verwandt.

This past summer, coming back from a walk in the late evening,I saw a fisher cat (or fisher) cross the road about 10 feet away from me. I had never seen one before - most people I know have never seen one. They are very shy.
So amazing to see! They are actually related to the weasel family, but when I saw your photograph I immediately thought of my fisher cat sighting!
