"St. George" Church , Old Metropolitan Church of Iaşi was built between 1761-1769 with the role of being the new building of the cathedral, replacing Stratenia Church (in place of which amounted present building of the cathedral). He has served as Metropolitan Cathedral until 1887 when the new sanctuary was consecrated as the cathedral.
