Sant’Ambrogio e le api

Saint Ambrose is the patron saint of Milan .
This unusual mural was created by Igor Scalisi Palminteri, a Palermitan artist committed to social causes . Palminteri believes in the value of creating "open-air museums" and making the great saints of the past feel familiar and accessibile.

The artwork depicts the 4th-century bishop with the face and features of a contemporary man: specifically those of beekeeper Michele Bonfoco, who cares for these precious creatures with his company, Apiamo, in the Ticino Pavese Park.

I have deep respect in beekeeping understanding the ecology a cultural aspects, but still let me mock - that he looks a bit like pastafarian here.

This is a lovley mural, Adele. Is this the Saint Ambrose who was deeply admired by St Augustine? I hope you have a great day. All the best, Joe

Adele replied to Joe, Son of the Rock:

Yes Joe. Saint Ambrose played a pivotal role in the conversion and baptism of Saint Augustine.
Thank your for your nice comment.
