Painted Lady butterfly on buddleia in my garden, looking a little tattered with wing damage.
Painted lady butterflies inhabit every continent except Australia and Antarctica. You can find them everywhere from meadows to vacant lots. Although they live only in warmer climates, painted ladies often migrate to colder regions in spring and autumn, making them the butterflies with the widest distribution of any species.

I really like both photos, but the one in the PiP just edges into the lead for my for the slightly better detail in the eyes!
Good to see your Buddleia still flowering.......mine have been dead and gone for a while now. The only butterflies I've seen the the garden lately have been Cabbage Whites and very few of those as well.
