Nick Weall replied to Rosalyn Hilborne:

I wonder what they might find if they excavate Rosa, perhaps they will move these stones first just in case

Hi Nick
A wonderful and interesting picture, which I like very much!
Coincidentally I went past there on 30 August, and briefly popped in the visitor centre. I liked the mud huts..
As for the bypass / tunnel, perhaps a big fence would be more cost effective so that people can't slow up to take a look. There isn't really a problem with traffic volume!
Best Wishes, a nice week ahead, and stay safe!!

Hi Peter, well actually there is often a traffic problem, but then there often is on all the remaining single lane parts of the A303. All the best to ou and stay safe

I don't know if the tunnel is really necesary. But I hope the tunnel does not damage the unique megalithic monuments!
Interesting picture!

Now then - I think this is my back garden in Shropshire. If you wait for a couple of days for the rain to stop, I'll get a lovely photo for you, dear Nick. As for the tunnel - I'll let some moles free so they can get to work, but I do hope that my installation won't collapse. That wouldn't be a bad thing though. I'm fed up with locals AND tourists climbing my garden fences to take a look, and with their iPhones and collapsible Samsungs. They are becoming a mighty pest. ;-)))

Nick Weall replied to Amelia:

I cannot believe that this building site of stored aerated concrete blocks taken from nearby badly built schools where they have been replaced by portacabins should generate such interest. Now to learn that your back garden has been extended to accommodate your own stored blocks will generate even more comment. I've a sinking suspicion this will not end well ~~~~

Rosalyn Hilborne replied to Nick Weall:

Yes you are right Nick. It has been a traffic problem since the 1970's.
I avoid it when I can.
