Oh for the summer time. We were without CH for 10 days until Wednesday. It was a case of hot water bottles and blankets when relaxing. New boiler fitted Wednesday. Warm dry towels and comfort. What did we do when we were young?

Poor you ~ that is terrible ~ When we were young we had jack frost making pretty patterns on the inside of our windows. Somehow we didn't feel the cold so much as kids. It is a far different story for the elderly where cold is a killer. I have a miniature electric blanket which can warm the small of my back if placed correctly, that and two hot water bottles usually keeps me warm.
HFF to you to dear LGM and yes the GP will be a useful distraction from the terrors of the world, where currently the Ukraine is the latest to suffer mindless bombardments, crazy power mad aggressors
