I remember the beach at Southsea. When I was about 12/13 I visited my big cousin there and was disappointed to find a shingle beach which shelved away rapidly. Still, the fishermen would have a better chance at catching something. The Guinness clock and the gardens along the promenade were good though.
HFF and have a good weekend dear Nick.
Adrian will be watching rugby in fact is watching it at this very minute.
I shall definitely watching the rugby tomorrow morning and later the F1 qualifying. Yes the beach at Southsea is mostly shingle as it is at Stokes Bay too. The IOW has more to offer in sandy beaches & I remember my school teacher Aunt taking me on holiday to Totland Bay, Alum Bay and the Needles. Alum bay is where the different coloured sands are to be found in the cliffs. I don't think I've ever noticed the Guiness Clock, but have walked the promenade a few times.
