There is something about the red double deckers, and you have photographed this one beautifully. There is a cafe not far from here called Pip's Railway Carriage Cafe, nr. Ilminster, where all meals are cooked and eaten in a railway carriage. They have now added a double decker bus to the cafe and I am told the food is just as outstanding. A novel idea and I can't wait to go there again.
Thank you so much for visiting. I am pleased that you like my attempt to make a scenic picture!
They do run these old buses on some weekends. I had a look for the cafe you mentioned, but there seems to be no pictures on the web site. Pity! (Or maybe other web site somewhere else?)
This was a very brief visit, matched up with something else on the day. But with two locos running, plus the old diesel DMU, at was worthwhile. The vintage bus was a nice addition!
Thank you for your very kind visit and nice comments. You are right of course, there is a London bus in Rahmi Koç Museum, and I have a photo of it from our time there. I think you have one too.. This link will say about the type of bus in Rahmi Koç en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AEC_Routemaster , which is of different manufacture to the one here, (although very similar style).
In this picture I wanted to get the station building in the frame too.. Specially..
Love Peter
