Hi Peter,

A great action shot! I was caught by a wave like that in Southsea last year! Along with my sister and brother, we were drenched from head to toe! We couldn't stop laughing!!

Best wishes,
Rosa.

Peter_Private_Box replied to Rosalyn Hilborne:

Thank you so much Rosa

Your story is so nice! All of you get wet, and you are happy!!
For some reason I don't understand, the waves on the north side are much bigger than those on the south, and even though it wasn't so windy, there were some big waves, (and a lot not so big that didn't make the photo..)
At least I didn't get wet!!

Just as well the reef is there to blunt those waves. Well captured.

Thank you George

I could not decide if the reef was natural or not, but it definitely took the impact of the big waves!

Another spot in this small world that we shared Peter. I once visited here as part of a tour of the Island during a cruise. Great catch here. Well done. ~ Herb

Peter_Private_Box replied to Herb Riddle:

Thank you Herb

I am pleased that it brings back nice memories for you. I guess the island is so small that there can only be a couple of practicable tour routes, and this must be one of them!!

Rosalyn Hilborne replied to Peter_Private_Box:

Well Peter, if you had seen us you would have had a good laugh! My sister has curly hair so hers dried much better than mine. The funniest thing was a man just passing my eldest brother and that poor man was soaked and Terry remained dry ;-))

Have a good weekend....Rosa.

Thank you Roger,

The surf is quite something! You caught the contrast between the dramatic sea and the fishermen's calm really well.

Peter_Private_Box replied to Gudrun:

Thank you Gudrun,

I am happy that you noticed! Perhaps the fish know to stay this side of the rocks to avoid the waves!
