Hello Peter a very nice shot indeed and one i am pleased you got with the three other sets of rail likely to have passing traffic to spoil the view .. i had a dentist appointment at the time it was due at Grantham so missed it altogether .. this is saved in fav's with a YS though
Thank you so much Steve, I am pleased that you like it. As you can see, it was a dull miserable day, so it would never be the best shot of this locomotive which I have ever taken, therefore I took the risk of passing traffic, and went somewhere easy to get to. I seem to remember you got a nice pic of two trains passing.. but I couldn't find it in your gallery.. Maybe Pano?
You managed to get a great picture despite the dull weather. Well, it is January, we should expect that really. The light at the front of the engine certainly shows up nicely and a great perspective. I like these two pictures very much.
Thank you so much for your praise here.. I used the zoom lens to try and compress the distance, and create the perspective, so I am pleased that you appreciated the effort!
The high intensity headlight is a railway requirement now, for the exact reason you have mentioned!!
