... beautiful golden hues ... one would not think exhaust-gas-and-steam as photogenic, but it is ! ... the repetitive windows down the line of coaches is an important element ...

... ah, that catenary maybe detracts: but it is part of the railway scene anyway ...

Peter_Private_Box replied to L. L. Wall:

Thank you Wally,

I am pleased that you have enjoyed it. You are so right, it is those clouds of exhaust which betray the power and effort being applied to the task in hand, yes, so important. As for the catenary, yes we have to live with it I am afraid!

Best Wishes

Hi Peter !
deeply impressed by this so brilliant morning vision!
the catenary seems to crown, above its steam puffs, this golden locomotive; the chain of its windows emphasizes its powerful run.
Have a lovely weekend.

Hi Bea,

Thank you so much for such kind and considered words! Your visit is most welcome!
As I said to Lothar, these were our most powerful express passenger locomotives, although here it has an easy job with these few coaches on a level track. I am really pleased that you like it!!

Thank you so much Steve,
I am so pleased that you think this one worthy. I am sure you must have something.. I did look at your gallery quickly, as I was sure you must have been out somewhere!
You will probably get a good few pics of the Black 5, as you have a bright sunny day forecast up your way! We will have rain!
Let us see tomorrow!
