Thank you Erhard,

Of course it is our nations most well known locomotive, and very popular for all to see!
Glad you like it too!

Thank you Jaap,

I'm glad you noticed the colours! The locomotive I've photographed many times, the colours are rarer!

The Flying Scotsman seems very busy this Autumn & you have found a perfect spot to capture it Peter ~~~ All the best ~~ Nick

Peter_Private_Box replied to Nick Weall:

Thank you Nick,

Judging by the number of people who had paid to ride behind it, you can understand why all the railways want to book it!
It is pleasing to note that all the stupidity of trespassing lineside seems to have died a death. Only a handful of sensible photographers in each spot.

Peter_Private_Box replied to Steve D:

Thank you so much Steve,

Your praise is much appreciated, as ever.
The location is correct, the same place we had been previously when we were trying bird pictures with our respective cameras.. I got the idea that the vegetation here could do with a bit of clearance, maybe that's why it looks different.
Any more thoughts on GCR this weekend?

Hello Peter

Perhaps this is the tree we were watching the Squirrels from the car ?

Yes given that the weather is not too bad Saturday i will head for Woodthorpe bridge and see how the land lays for parking there these days hopefully in time for the first double header of the day ... Alan and his friend hope to get there by 10.00am also

My Dear Füsun,

Thank you so much for your visit and such kind words! I am so pleased that you like my choice of picture from the day. The autumn colours are always nice!
I remember almost two years ago (only 6 days shy) we saw this locomotive, and it was not autumn colours. None the less a wonderful memory for us.
