WOW what a mechanism of pipes, tubes etc, and I see the distiller also! actually Peter this is a colorful maze of this operation! well seen and photographed. How did it all taste? :)))
Thank you so much for your visit! I am very happy you have enjoyed sharing the visit. These are just like the moonshine stills that I imagine your hillbillies keep in their garages, only a bit bigger. The whiskey goes through a number of distillation vessels, which you can see here on the right..
At the end of the tour we got a free sample.. with the option of buying as much as we wanted!
An excellent shot Peter. We have been to a few distilleries in Scotland and taken tours. Very good but the best part for me was the tasting at the end!! Have a good Sunday
I am very happy that you like it! Thank you so much!! I have visited a couple of the Scottish distilleries too, and yes had the free samples! This is a little bigger than any of the Scottish ones I saw, and the air inside is hot, damp, and funnily enough, smells of whiskey!
By far my Fav is Irish not Scottish and Bushmills rates very high. never had the chance to visit any thing like this i can imagin the smell of the place as well. i will enjoy it all the more now as i have seen it in the making. many thanks for that.
Thank you for visiting, and you are most welcome to share a glass or two! As I said to Andy, this is the one and only distillation room. Your Bushmills has traveled down that pipe after being boiled off in those copper stills. The process is repeated a few times, each still producing a more refined mixture, before it goes to the next..
You are right about the smell too!!!

At least you know that your whiskey as been down those pipes at some point in its life. There is no other production line...
