Bosigran Head, sea-cliff climbing, nursery slopes.

by Andy Rodker
Looking away from the sea and towards Carn Galva. The slopes here are gentle ones - great for beginners. Better on large for greater detail of the granite and this landscape.
This is looking the other direction: www.ipernity.com/doc/2247598/51829324

Yes I'd heard that the drystone walls on Dartmoor and also in Cornwall, are considered to be the oldest man-made structures still being used nowadays for the original purpose. Makes you kind of proud to have that history in the area where you live doesn't it? This is a brilliant picture of the moorland and the granite rocks.

Are you starting to do climbing again Andy? Good for you, but do take it easy, there's no rush for these things?

Andy Rodker replied to Jenny McIntyre:

I haven't rock-climbed since 1986, Jenny. I restrict my mountain activities to walking but especially scrambling, which is halfway between walking and climbing. If you need one or both hands for balance or for movement, it's scrambling.
Thank you - pleased you like this: 99% of people would point the camera the other way towards the Atlantic!
And that claim about the oldest, etc ... Yes - an easy claim to make but these walls throughout the Southwest, probably are what is claimed!

A really beautiful and interesting landscape Andy............I like how you've composed this to give the granite rocks pride of place. A smashing shot.

Thanks for the notes too.

My youngest daughter and her children would love this sort of place, They do a lot of "bouldering" when they get the chance.

Andy Rodker replied to Keith Burton:

Bouldering can be fun, Keith - but only if you're into that sort of thing and I did a bit of it in my day!
