The rear of the St Day Inn

There really isn't a possibility of an attractive exterior shot of this pub, nice thought the pub is and known as Upper House as opposed to The Star Inn aka Lower House as it's about 1/2 mile downhill from St Day centre here. So I thought I'd take this shot at the back of the pub and include the marketplace clocktower and a full moon. I don't mind the half a car here, I really don't. It adds a touch of balance to the composition (imho!)

I like the general composition here Andy..........especially the way you've framed the clocktower and the moon. The car doesn't bother me either, sometimes they just can't be avoided, same with the cable.

Andy Rodker replied to Keith Burton:

I sometimes use cables in my shots for their help with perspective and compositional balance, Keith. In truth I don't much mind them in realistic shots of how things are. Yes, they would be intrusive if one's aim were a chocolate-boxey effect.

Oh it's so similar to the old pubs down here. You go out the back door of nearly any of the old pub, and the view would be the same. I love the moon almost peeking out the tower
