Another gnarled olive tree. H. A. N. W. E. everyone!

This local park is full of them and is called Olive Tree Park (I wonder why!).
www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsTf3gZn27k for those that might have wondered what happened to Eric Burdon and his fabulous blues voice after the Animals and House of the Rising Son and, no, it has nothing to do with the photo, I just like it!

Wie alt mag dieser Olivenbaum wohl sein. Vielleicht 1000 Jahre ? :)

Ingrid,
Udo,
Jenny,
Very many thanks!
This was a park only since the 1980s and the old olive trees were specially bought in. I think it must be a big business as there are many new parks around which have old trees in them, only a few being in their original location.

What a beautiful and long suffering olive tree. But, it still lives... and it seem, well!

Andy Rodker replied to Eva Lewitus:

There are about 100 in this park and they all seem degenerate but thriving at the same time (at least they all produce a lot of fruit which no one farms!)

Etonnant, ce doit être un olivier centenaire...

Andy Rodker replied to Pierre Pasqualini:

Probably much more than that but it didn't grow here for most of its life. It would have been transplanted in the 1980s probably from further south in Spain. As I say, ornamental old olive trees are big business, especially with councils creating. or re-fashioning old, parks.
