Misery! Calima strikes again!

Calima:- Saharan dust storm. What should have been a glorious, if hot, day totally ruined by what has become a far too frequent occurance! The temperature was 39ºC so not even any let up from the heat! Miserable indeed!
For the complete gloomy effect, best on full screen!

This dust from the Sahara also arrived here in Lisbon today, not with such intensity but clearly visible in the cars parked on the streets. It is the third time this year, it seems that it is becoming a recurring phenomenon. In the past it happened once every ten, fifteen years...

Andy Rodker replied to Paulo Moreira:

Yes,
Thank you, Paulo.
I moved to Madrid in 2010. I didn't recall, or even hear about, 'Calima' until a couple of years ago at most. Maybe because I was living in the centre of Madrid then and weather phenomena aren't so visible among the appartment blocks.
But, since moving to Algete and with amazing scenery from where I now live, I can attest to the fact that I've experienced at least 10 such incidents these past two years!

Porquoi?
I would have thought that impaired visibility wouldn't be best advice for drivers!
