Our 'moorish' tower on a sunny day. Algete street scene no. 12

We are on a small hill and this is a prominent (recently built) landmark. It houses the admin offices of the local community.

Interesting to see the cars parked opposite to the traffic direction.

Andy Rodker replied to Ronald Losure:

As far as I know, there's no rule against this as long as traffic can flow in both directions. But I did notice it and wondered if someone would comment!!! From an article I read somewhere, Ron it seems that traffic laws in the US are very strict. I heard that if you were caught crossing the road other than at a designated pedestrian crossing point you could be imprisoned for life and the shame would extend down 4 generations!

I see this is quite near to Barajas- do you get much noise from air traffic?

Andy Rodker replied to Gudrun:

It's not too close really, Gudrun and the answer is that I've heard about 2 planes in the 2 months I've lived here this time round (Covid restrictions no doubt). 10 years ago when I lived near here, I don't remember it being a problem but then much of my life has been lived near Heathrow flight paths so perhaps I'm immune!

Gudrun replied to Andy Rodker:

Yes, it's also much quieter in our town! I guess it will take some getting used to once air traffic picks up again.
