Sierra de Guadarrama from the Roman Road

My views of this sierra last week were from a closer vantage point. I should have been there this week but an arrogant student decided that the immersion course was not to his taste and so he got it cancelled after only 2 minutes of us all meeting!
I now have a battle to get paid and the academy has a fight to retain the contract. A worrying few days all round! (There was nothing wrong with the course).

Andy Rodker replied to Keith Burton:

Thank you Keith.
I know many people wouldn't share stories like this but I'm not proud!
I remember as a child a neighbour explained to my Dad that they couldn't join us on a day out in London because they were 'brassic' (as in 'boracic lint' for those not familiar with Cockney rhyming slang) , meaning 'skint' and my Dad said later that he could never stoop so low as to divulge personal information of that sort to anyone, let alone near-strangers!
Obviously, I don't take that extreme a view!

Well that student needed to be told to give it a day and then see how he felt. How awful that this situation has jeopardised your salary and also the course for someone else. As for this view - it's absolutely gorgeous

Thank you, Jenny.
It's all up in the air at the moment but I have to try and stay upbeat!
That student (by the look of him) was in a mid life crisis, his wife had run off with the milkman (Ok this is Spain ... with the chorizo salesman), he had been turned down at the last interview for upgrade and promotion, he needs to ask his fitness and weight-loss class for a 100% refund (same from the charm school) and he can rot in Hell as far as I'm concerned.
Other than that i'm fine, having got that off my chest!
(My girlfriend is away in France visiting a friend. This made sense given that we couldn't match holiday times this year anyway! We'll go on long weekends in September and October to get some quality time together.)
