... impressive rock formation ... as for the climbers: why ? (yeah, the standard reply is: "because it's there"; but ...? ) for a thrill, try driving on multi-lane superhighways; or even on city streets in some countries ...

Andy Rodker replied to L. L. Wall:

Thank you!
I have no idea, Wally ... ...
Why do any of us do anything at all except exist and follow paths beyond our comprehension?
I used to enjoy rock climbing. I think I did it because I perceived myself to be a coward in life and needed a symbol of some sort that I wasn't.
The jury is still out.

I can just make out the faint impression of a climber on his nose. This climb is definitely for the strong willed.

Andy Rodker replied to Jenny McIntyre:

There are two climbers there, Jenny. They are sorting out their ropes and equipment, prior to one of them making the ascent over the overhang. The other will wait until his partner has completed the move and subsequent push to the summit before following in his turn. Hazy image due to this being taken on my mobile phone at short notice!

tiabunna replied to Andy Rodker:

So did I, long ago, but never near that level.

Crazy guys!
The whole rock looks somehow like a huge helmet of a futuristic person.

Andy Rodker replied to polytropos:

Thanks Poly. I have very many shots of this interesting mountain top in my gallery, such as this one www.ipernity.com/doc/2247598/45944480/in/album/1040438 which does indeed look like a helmeted soldier's face!
