Aparently it's a true story Jenny but I don't know how long ago! Must have been at least 300 years or so. It's only 20 miles from Madrid so you would have thought a few intrepid souls would have looked behind it and seen an even taller mountain, Peñalara, but apparently not! Peñalara is the highest mountain in The Sierra de Guadarrama but isn't visible from Madrid.
