Wild tulip, Sierra de La Cabrera, Madrid

They only open this fully on the hottest of days and when the sun is at its highest; an hour or two at most. And because Spain adheres to Central European time, this means between 3 and 5 pm! They really are quite small; miniature wild tulips!

Marie-claire, thank you - I see them often in May and June but normally closed. This was the only time I have seen them open. The conditions must have been just right!
Luciano, Very many thanks!
Best wishes to you both,
Andy
