Such roofs are made of granite stones carved from local quarries. As you can see in the other photos, granite and wood (above all for trusses) have been the raw materials for alpine architecture in this area of the Alps. However, there are constructive features belonging to the single valleys (the size of the doors and the points of light, the location of the living room compared to the barn and the stable, the side on which the doors are built and how much, how the wood is used, etc.). The ancient Walser people from the canton of Valais in 1200 have started to settle down the Alpine arch. It has its own constructive features, recognizable everywhere.
