French-Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado has died at the age of 81. Throughout his life, he traveled the world, camera in hand. A master of black and white and contrast, he enjoyed success after success, with such famous works as "The Hand of Man," "Genesis," and "Amazônia," spanning the Sahel to Tierra del Fuego, from India to the Arctic, from Kuwait to Serra Pelada.
Over time, Salgado became a privileged witness to the torments of humanity and the beauty of the world.
The grass and stakes in front of these people aren't great, I agree, but I had no choice when taking the photo from my balcony to avoid being noticed.
