The two artists Jean Moderne and Yann Le Berre, selected following the call for applications in spring 2023, have combined their two worlds to carry out this project. With a surface area of 270 m², the fresco is created on the gable of a building at 13 quai de Rohan, a strategic location in the heart of the city.
The design was adapted according to the orientation, the shape of the building with its roundness, the pure colors of the coat of arms (yellow-blue-red), a reference to the Breton flag, the silver and gold tones which are more or less intense or shiny depending on the brightness... An acrylic painting made in seven days and which is designed to last five years.

I'm fascinated that it says this mural is only designed to last 5 years. I wonder why they didn't make it more permanent than that.
What a fun collaboration they did. What drew you to photograph this for our event?
