Galboly

On the north coast of Northern Ireland, in County Antrim between Carnlough and Waterfoot, lies the hidden village of Galboly, an abandoned village in the hills above the sea. According to available information, the village never had more than sixty residents, but declined until the only resident was a Cistercian monk named Veder O'Kane who died in 1973. The village is now a collection of ruined houses and outbuildings and is reached by a walk up a rough track. It is no longer as "hidden" as it once was since being used in filming "Game of Thrones." This photo is of one of the ruined houses and of the peaks beyond.

This is just so lovely. You have the rocky peaks and a wee bothy, albeit in ruins. It almost asks that the ruined house is renovated as a memorial of the village. But I guess it's gone beyond repair.
