This is the normal colored variety of the Western Fairy Slipper, Calypso bulbosa var. occidentalis. This photo, like the previous two was taken on a rainy day, a day notable for finding an all white form of this species that we had been told about.
All three of today's posts were from Washington Park Near Anacortes during a walk there. Today, however, looks anything but relaxing and like one of those days where commenting is going to be delayed - a trip to the airport, taking the car in for service, etc., but I will catch everyone up.
