Really not a rose at all, this is one of our loveliest wildflowers, Lewisia tweedyi, indigenous to the Wentachee area on the east slopes of the Cascades, it blooms in the spring and has the largest flowers of any of the Lewisias that are native to our area. This was photographed in Derby Canyon, east of Peshastin, Washington.
