Highway 20, the North Cascades Highway, winds eastward through North Cascades National Park reaching over 5000 feet in elevation and then drops steeply down through Washington Pass where this spectacular peak stands guard to the south. The peak is well over 7000 feet and there is a viewpoint at the top of Washington Pass from which this photo was taken and which provides some of the most spectacular views to be found along the highway.
