Golden Jellycone Mushrooms

In Explore May 14, 2013, #310.

We photographed these along the Old Mount Si trail in the Cascades. They were on nearly every dead branch in one of the few level areas along the trail and were very tiny, the largest being about 1cm in size (the green is moss, not ferns). Their botanical name is Guepiniopsis alpina and they are one of the Jelly Fungi.
