Italy, Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi
The Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi (La Basilica di San Francesco d'Assisi) is the main church of the Franciscan Order, located in the city of Assisi. It is one of the six great basilicas of the Catholic Church.
The temple gained worldwide fame thanks to the famous 13th-century frescoes based on the life of St. Francis, the author of which is considered to be Giotto and his students. The Church of San Francesco, together with the Sacro Convent in Assisi, are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
