well, if you know the SPD, the click part is the heavy "half" of the pedal, and tends to spin the pedal around if it's upwards. I wanted it upwards, but slightly tilted to be nicely in the picture, so I had to fix it in that position. As I was in the "wild" and had nothing with me to somehow fixate the pedal in this position, I needed a counterweight. Meet my counterweight :)
