Tower Bridge has been a very pleasant surprise for me. It's a living industrial site that tells fascinating stories, but the real story is about the people who built it. Skilled workers came from Glasgow, Scotland, and across England, forming tight-knit communities while working far from home. They lived and worked side by side, creating one of London's most famous landmarks through their teamwork and dedication. Some stayed in London after the bridge was finished, helping the city grow, while others returned home with new experiences. Their legacy lives on in this remarkable structure we can still walk across today.
