Small, dainty and venomous

This elegant juvenile pit viper was on a low plant beside the walking trail in the jungle at Bako in Sarawak. It was almost defying gravity, seeming to float.
I was entranced by it…but did not get closer than 1.5 meters just in case….they do bite.

Have a fabulous weekend

A great capture, Diana, but this is where zoom lenses become very useful. Big huggss, enjoying your Sarawak images.

Thanks George. I have a 200 zoom. Like being in a permanent sauna here…bit different from your Antarctic days…❤️❤️❤️❤️

Großartige Aufnahme! Ich würde auch genug Abstand halten, obwohl nicht alle Grubenotter giftig sind. Beissen können alle ! Wünsche dir einen schönen Tag!

I don't think this species exists in Europe.... in my opinion you got too close, however the shot is really excellent.
Nice Sunday.... without snakes!

I had a maths teacher at school that fitted your title perfectly Diana :-))

Anyway...........this is a super shot......the snake is a gorgeous vibrant green colour and your focus and depth of field are spot on. Very nicely captured..!!
