Actually I really like this one Diane. The compositional "rules" are only for guidance and I often ignore them if I like the results. That's what counts.
Further to what Keith said, I sometimes compose like this myself -- a division in the middle between two very different scenes. Actually, rdhinmn pointed that out to me; I didn't plan to do it. Well, regardless of what I do, this is a very impressive shot, with the sharp division etc.
Iy's part of an excellent series, too.
My only rule of composition is to avoid using the Rule of Thirds.

Well, I am now retired too and no longer have so much time for Ipernity! ;-D.
But I try to upload a few pictures from time to time. Of course i'm on the road a lot more now; so there would be enough subjects :-)
