Northern Lights, Oregon, 2024

Northern lights, Dorris, California. Headlights on Highway 97 and a big irrigation sprinkler in front. This is farmland. In the photos, the colors are more saturated. I would love to know reactions of people who didn't know this was going to happen! It was supposed to be visible in most of the USA - what a treat!

I thought of my mother, who said she saw northern lights a few times as a child growing up in South Dakota. ;-)

Ici, en Périgord (Sud Ouest de la France) on ne peut qu'en rêver (La Finlande n'est pas à côté...et moi,j'ai toujours rêvé de voir une aurore boréale) Dans la nuit du vendredi 10 Mai au Samedi 11 mai. il y en a eu une extraordinairement visible.Tous ceux qui l'ont vue ont été émerveillés. Et moi....je dormais. Personne n'avait été prévenu que celà risquait de se produire.Selon la presse d'autres auraient été visibles les nuits suivantes mais les conditions métérologiques se sont fortement dégradées. Le rêve était passé.Tes photos me consolent. Amitié

Oh no, poor man! This event was on the news for several days before the event, stioll there would have been huge numbers of people who did not know about it. Imagine driving on that highway and suddenly the lights begin after dark! What a shock - lol! Thank you so much, my friend.
