Featherdale Zoo, Sydney

Sulphur-crested cockatoo and Gulah (also a cockatoo). The sulphur-crested are everywhere, even in downtown Sydney. They're nearly as common as pigeons, so it was a real treat to see them strutting around on lawns, balcony railings and tree branches. There are even plenty of ibis, nicknamed bin chickens, in Sydney. tinyurl.com/sgm3oop

We were there in 1986. There were big flocks of galahs in city parks and rural areas.
