July
I'm smoked in for the first time this summer. There is a big fire to the south west (and upwind) overlapping the CA/OR border. Much of one small town has burned, one person killed. In less than 24 hours it went from 9,000 acres to 22,000 (as of 7/8 abt 40,000). It's due to get hotter and smokier, but wind will subside a bit.
Southern California is in precarious shape, with severe drought, higher heat, hundreds of homes gone and thousands of people evacuated. I have to say it's hard to enjoy summer, anymore.

Pointers for hot weather: 1. Don't have lightning. 2. Don't allow arson. 3. Don't make campfires, play with matches in dry grass or mow said grass.
There, I fixed it! ;-b
