To be replaced by a park

See PiPs. There was a great mural on that wall. Now it's gone! A lot of people were upset about that, but there was apparently no feasible way to detach it from the building and save it. There is some consolation in that the artist who painted it in 2010 will be involved in designing the new park. I'm hoping for a replica of that mural!

Well, at least it's not to be replaced by a parking lot!

I hope you mean a park with grass and trees and stuff..............and not a car park..!! Shame about the mural, but I suppose any street art will only last as long as the building it's on. I hope it's been documented by someone.

Yes, I hope it's a nice one and not just a vacant lot!

But perhaps a park is better?

Diane Putnam replied to Andy Rodker:

A park is great, but it's just my opinion that the mural was a unique feature that deserved more effort to preserve. A small park was built in another vacant lot a few blocks away and it's amazingly dull - concrete, mostly - and it's always vacant. Then, there's Veteran's Park at the other end of Main, which is full of drunks sleeping under bushes. I just don't have much hope that another one will be creative or be a draw for families, customers for businesses, etc.

It sounds as if this may turn out better. Possibly he will make the place beautiful
